Perturbation Methods for Bifurcation Analysis from Multiple Nonresonant Complex Eigenvalues
It is shown that the logical bases of the static perturbation method, which is currently used in static bifurcation analysis, can also be applied to dynamic bifurcations. A two-time version of the Lindstedt–Poincaré Method and the Multiple Scale Method are employed to analyze a bifurcation problem of codimension two. It is found that the Multiple Scale Method furnishes, in a straightforward way...
متن کاملBifurcation Analysis of Homoclinic Flips at Principal Eigenvalues Resonance
One orbit flip and two inclination flips bifurcation is considered with resonant principal eigenvalues. We introduce a local active coordinate system to establish bifurcation equation and obtain the conditions when the original homoclinic orbit is kept or broken. We also prove the existence and the existence regions of double 1-periodic orbit bifurcation. Moreover, the complicated homoclinic-do...

15 صفحه اولEigenvalues of a Linear Transformation
We adopt the following convention: i, j, m, n denote natural numbers, K denotes a field, and a denotes an element of K. Next we state several propositions: (1) Let A, B be matrices over K, n1 be an element of Nn, and m1 be an element of Nm. If rng n1 × rngm1 ⊆ the indices of A, then Segm(A + B,n1,m1) = Segm(A,n1,m1) + Segm(B,n1,m1). (2) For every without zero finite subset P of N such that P ⊆ ...

The dimensions of sets of matrices of various types, with specified eigenvalue multiplicities, are determined. The dimensions of the sets of matrices with given Jordan form and with given singular value multiplicities are also found. Each corresponding codimension is the number of conditions which a matrix of the given type must satisfy in order to have the specified multiplicities.
